Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is a turn-based RPG.

My main responsibility was to create icons and other visual assets for the HUD and menus. I also handled laying out screens and creating transitions using Unity’s UI tools and animator controllers and timeline. In addition, I also handled several mock ups of features.

My biggest contribution was in creating all the in-game maps, referencing renders of the game’s area. I set up volumes myself in-engine to capture images of the game’s environments, and hand drew details, collaborating with the UI lead and game designers.

MAPS

The bulk of the work I handled was in creating location maps. I had to stitch together various environments into single map screens, accounting for the way they all connected, as well as creating details to cohesively tie in the maps with the existing environment art.

A few maps were already created, and I had to follow and maintain style consistency with those. I also worked in-engine to hook the assets directly in-game using prefabs, and tweaking volumes in levels to correspond with the maps. In all, I created around 50-80 individual maps over the course of half a year.
